Tuan Trang

Dr. Tuan Trang and his team have a strong focus of research on the discovery of fundamental molecules or processes involved in chronic pain, and the potential enhancement to the current opioid drugs for the pain treatment. In particular, the Trang Lab is interested in the functions of the microglia and the interplay between neurons and microglia during chronic pain and opioid analgesia. Facilitated by diverse experimental approaches, from the behavioral evaluation to single-cell imaging, the Dr. Trang’s group manages to analyze the mechanisms of pain at different levels, hence accelerating the discovery of key molecules and processes of chronic pain, which can be the cornerstone for the development of novel therapeutic strategies for treating chronic pain.
