What is nanotechnology?

Nanotechnology is an emerging area that involves the engineering of nanosize particles of various materials, considered to deal with particles in the size range 1-100 nm (1 nanometer is one-billionth of a meter (0.000000001 or 10^-9 meters)). And this approach is used in toxicology testing, and assessment of the human and environmental risks, also developed for use in drug delivery, biosensors, and other biomedical applications like nanocapsules, nanofibers, nanoceuticals, nanoemulsions, nanocoatings, nanoencapsulation, and the varied nanomaterials.
