Need advice on a local contractor for a basement backwater valve install

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some local insight. After the heavy rains we had last week in the Riverside area, I noticed some "seepage" coming up through the floor drain in my basement. It wasn't a full flood, thankfully, but it was enough to make me realize that my older home desperately needs a backwater valve installed before the next big storm hits. I’ve been doing some research on local companies that specialize in protective plumbing and sewer maintenance, and I came across this team for plumbing windsor https://superiorplumbing.ca/windsor/ who seem to have a lot of experience with these specific municipal protection programs Has anyone here actually used them for a backwater valve installation or a sump pump upgrade? I’m particularly interested to know if they help with the paperwork for the City of Windsor’s Basement Flooding Protection Subsidy Program, as I’d love to get some of that cost covered. Also, how was their clean-up? My basement is partially finished, so I’m a bit nervous about someone digging up the floor. If you’ve worked with them, was the quote they gave you accurate, or were there hidden fees once they started digging?

I actually used that exact company last year for the same reason. To answer your question about the clean-up: they were surprisingly tidy. They laid down drop cloths from the front door all the way to the basement stairs and used a shop vac as they were cutting into the concrete to keep the dust down. Regarding the subsidy, the technician was actually the one who told me about it! He provided a detailed, itemized invoice that the City required for the rebate, and the whole process was much smoother than I expected. They definitely know the local requirements in Windsor-Essex.

That is such a relief to hear! The dust was my biggest worry, honestly. I didn't realize they were so familiar with the city's rebate program either—that potentially saves me a lot of money and headache. I think I’ll give them a call tomorrow morning to get an inspector out here. Thanks for sharing your experience!
