Modify Mosquito's Gene to Control Malaria

Malaria is a human infectious disease often transmitted by mosquitoes. Researches are now altering a mosquito's gut genes using CRISPR-Cas9 gene-editing technology to reduce its ability to spread the disease. As long as the modified gene is passed to the next generation of their species, malaria may be eradicated in the near future.
