Prices declined across all major markets as crude oil and energy costs gradually eased. However, September brought a fresh change in market direction, with prices recovering as renewed tensions in the Middle East raised concerns about feedstock costs and supply availability.

Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB) is an important raw material used in the production of detergents and household cleaning products. It plays a major role in the manufacturing of laundry powders, liquid detergents, dishwashing products, and other cleaning solutions. 

Because of its connection with the detergent industry and petroleum-based feedstocks, LAB prices are closely influenced by changes in crude oil prices, production expenses, transportation costs, and overall market demand.

During Q3 2026, the global market experienced falling prices followed by a moderate recovery. India recorded the sharpest quarterly declines in its domestic segments, while China experienced the smallest decline. 

In September, China also recorded the strongest recovery. These developments highlight how different regional markets respond to changes in energy costs, international trade, and purchasing activity.
