How do antibiotics kill viruses?

Antibiotics are strong medicine which are used to treat mainly bacterial infection and not viral infection as they won’t kill viruses. As the structure between the bacteria and viruses differ, virus structure and the replication is way different from the bacteria.  Antibiotics can be lifesaving and at the same time it can cause side effects and it can lead to antibiotic resistance which is more dangerous. Antibiotics used to target the growth mechanism of bacteria and not in virus to kill or inhibit it.
