Overview

In the fractured remains of civilization after the Collapse, settlements cling to survival under the watchful eyes of factions, warlords, and since the universe has a sense of humor and bureaucracy never seems to die, HOAs. Because, of course, they still exist. Not even all-out nuclear war could end them.Anyway, when Jaces barbed wire perimeter earns him an official citation for being unwelcoming, he and his friend Abby stumble into an opportunity they never expected: a chance to build the first radio broadcasting network the wasteland has heard in fifteen years. Guided by a representative from the Happy Fallout Media corporation who appears and disappears like a bureaucratic ghost, and armed with a satchel of diagrams that may or may not be upside‑down, they assemble a mismatched team: Nova Thorne, a relentlessly hopeful spiritualist, and Rusty Buckner, a former handyman who has absolutely seen too much and seems to be the only real adult in the bunker. Together, they attempt to resurrect an abandoned bunker and a radio tower that looks like it lost a fight with gravity. Unfortunately, the wasteland has other plans. Their journey drags them through chaotic holidays, collapsing malls, a spiked warlord with a fragile ego and fabulous fashion sense, mutant wrestling caravans, and the sacred territory of the Acolytes of the Great Vending Machine, whose devotion to snack distribution borders on the violent, and quite frankly, just weird and disturbing. And when the Rust Rats enthusiastically agree to help dismantle one of the Acolytes sacred vending machines to help gather the final missing pieces for the radio station, they have a revelation mid‑destruction: snacks should be for everyone. This noble philosophy sparks the first tremors of a conflict that will absolutely become someone elses problem in the future. But among the chaos, or rather in spite of it, a voice in the darkness finally emerges from the signal that is born. Welcome to the Wasteland Broadcasting Network.
