    Description The plasmid Calmodulin-WT is designed for the preparation of wild-type calmodulin (CaM). CaM is a 17-kDa calcium-binding messenger protein that serves as a critical link in the signal transduction pathway between Ca²⁺ and target proteins in eukaryotes. The structures of CaM in the absence of Ca²⁺ (PDB: 1CFC) and in the presence of Ca²⁺ (PDB: 1CLL) have been well-characterized. CaM can be effectively detected by the MspA nanopore, and its different conformers, including the Ca²⁺-free, Ca²⁺-bound, and target peptide-bound states can be unambiguously distinguished (Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2021, 60(44), 23863-23870.).
