Team Description
We are 13 students from life sciences and various engineering disciplines. Last year we tackled the green seed problem and received second place in the undergraduate division, among other awards. Now we aim to alleviate vitamin A deficiency, the leading cause of preventable childhood blindness, by engineering yeast to use agricultural waste as feedstock to produce carotenoids and omega-3 fatty acids. Grown as a nutritional supplement, our yeast provides a sustainable solution for communities.
