Team Description
We are a team of highly motivated undergraduate students from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune, India! Our team consists of curious Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Physics, and Mathematics students. Last year, we created a novel highly-efficient lead-sensing bioremediation system that helped to clean the Mula Mutha river in Pune. This year, we are working on developing a cure for Malaria that is based on rigorous modeling, wet lab assays, and human practices. We aim to design a library of orally available peptide drugs that will inhibit the onset of Malarial infections at various blood stages and effectively prevent the spread of the disease. Coupled with efficient social practices and the spread of global awareness, our project offers comprehensive protection against the spread and aids in the abatement of Malaria.
