Team Description
We are iGEM NCKU Tainan 2020, an undergraduate team from NCKU Tainan, Taiwan. This year we\'re going to design a pair of contact lenses for treating glaucoma. Glaucoma is an ocular disease that is usually caused by high Intraocular Pressure (IOP) in the eye. Our modified contact lenses will have a compartment to contain our engineered bacteria. As IOP increases, it will trigger our bacteria to produce nitric oxide synthase to convert L-arginine into nitric oxide to lower the IOP.
